How Does FED Chairman Ben Bernanke Influence the Market So Easily?
Chuck Morse, historian, radio commentator and author both poses and proceeds to answer this question in his just released book, The Art and Science of American Money-How our Money is created and Why it Matters.
Morse examines the history of American currency from colonial times to the present. “Human civilization has advanced in so many ways,” Morse observes; “We have developed superior medicines to cure diseases, more democratic systems, inventions such as computers and cell-phones yet our monetary system is still stuck in the Dark Ages.”
Defining money based upon the theories of late 19th Century economist Alexander Del Mar, Morse documents the struggle between the two competing monetary systems that run through American history.
The first, supported by such great American leaders as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, William Jennings Bryan, Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, held that American money should be publically issued debt-free into the economy.
This view was countered by well-meaning Americans such as Alexander Hamilton who played a pivotal role in establishing the First Bank of the United States, a private institution that was granted a virtual monopoly to issue American currency at interest. “The private monetary system is the system that we have now,” observes Morse. The private central banking system is managed by the Federal Reserve Bank and is increasingly influenced by international central banks such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Bank of International Settlements.

Morse observes that American money has been a debt instrument since the establishment of the FED in 1913, which he respectfully refers to as a private cartel of banks and investors both domestic and foreign. “When our government needs money,”, Morse notes, “rather than simply spending tax revenue or issuing money through the Treasury, Congress borrows it from the FED at interest, and about 20% of our taxes go to pay interest on the debt. This is largely why we have a $16 trillion dollar national debt, and why we as individuals are up to our eyeballs in personal debt.”

Our Money has been inflated at least ten times over in the last half century by the FED and by banks that employ a system of money creation called fractional reserve banking. There were periods of American history when private capital accumulation was sufficient for individuals to live virtually debt-free and for businesses to expand and employ people by means of investing their profits and by short term borrowing as opposed to taking on massive debt. “The present monetary system,” Morse contends, “has turned most of us, other than the top 3% richest and the bottom 5% who are paid not to work, into wage slaves.”

This book suggests a means by which America can get out from under the debt that is inherent to a system that issues currency as a debt instrument. Morse contends that a debt-free currency would reduce the inflation/depression roller-coaster. “Our money,” Morse insists, “if issued by our elected officials debt-free and under scientific guidelines, would cause earnings and property to reflect its true value, prices to stabilize, wages to increase in value and would result in a steady and honest level of economic growth.”
Until recent decades, debates over monetary questions were a common aspect of American politics and average Americans were more knowledgeable on this critical topic. Morse hopes to contribute toward re-igniting this essential dialogue.
Chuck Morse is the host the radio talk show "Chuck Morse Speaks" which is nationally syndicated on the IRN/USA Radio Network Mon - Fri 10 AM - Noon ET. He is the author of books as well as columns that have been published in The Boston Globe, The Washington Times, The Providence Journal, the New Bedford Standard Times, WND, Newsmax and Front Page. Chuck Morse received the 2003 Communicator of the Year award from the National Right to Work Committee and was named a "Heavy 100" Radio Talk Host by Talkers Magazine. Morse ran for Congress in 2004 against Rep. Barney Frank in Massachusetts.
Chuck Morse speaks on the topics covered in his books which are published on Amazon Kindle. Those books include:
The Art and Science of American Money - How Our Money is Created and Why It Matters
This book is about the nature of American currency and, more essentially, this book provides a definition of money itself. Morse traces the history of the battle between the advocates of U.S. Notes, as advanced by great Americans such as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln, and those who advocated for the creation and issuance of American currency by private bankers and central banks at interest. Mr. Morse offers several proposals that would, he contends, move our nation and us as individuals away from permanent debt and toward an economy based on public and private savings.
ACORN - The Takeover of America
This book analyses the history of the now defunct American radical group ACORN as a metaphor for the overall direction of America in the Obama years. ACORN developed an octopus-like apparatus of hundreds of secretive interlocking groups that were funded by billions in taxpayer money. Their agenda was a transfer of power from elected representatives to appointed bureaucrats with themselves playing the role of shock-troops as they fattened their coffers and engaged in illegal activities. With decades of investigations for voter registration fraud, ACORN was finally exposed by Operation Veritas in 2009. While they allegedly went out of business their infrastructure continues under other guises and their methodology and ideology lives on.
On the Jewish Question - Karl Marx, anti-Semitism and the War Against the west
This book about Karl Marx's anti-Semitic tract "On the Jewish Question" which was first published in 1844. The author contends that Marx book belongs in the same pantheon of anti-Semitic hate literature as does Mein Kampf and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion due to its enduring influence on the politics and culture of the left.

Morse research demonstrates how the politics and philosophy of Marx influenced the anti-Semitism of Hitler and Stalin and that the anti-Semitism expressed by Marx influences many of the anti-American views expressed by the left today. He presents controversial research which raises questions about the influence of Marx on Nazism and the Holocaust.
Bible Tabula Rasa - The Book of Genesis

This is a close analysis of the text of the Biblical Book of Genesis. Morse, whose analysis is both political and religious, claims that ideas contained within the Book of Genesis, starting with the creation story, offer an informal constitution for all nations and how the American Founders drew their inspiration from the Bible when they established the American Republic. Refuting ant-Biblical naysayers, Morse sites examples of how the Book of Genesis established such institutions as the family, private property, political sovereignty and the code of morality and ethics that has guided western civilization.

Islamo-Communism - The Communist Connection to Islamic Terrorism

This book, written as a sequel to "The Nazi Connection to Islamic Terrorism" published by WND Books, traces the Communist influence on the development of modern Radical Islam. This is a study of the Soviet subversion of the Arab and Islamic nations. The author presents a novel thesis in which he demonstrates the means by which Communism gave birth to a radicalized form of Islam which the author calls "Islamo-Communism." By focusing on the modern history of Turkey Iran and Saudi Arabia, and the Islamo-Communist war against Israel, the author demonstrates how left-wing Communism transformed Islam to suit its own totalitarian and collectivist image.

The Counter-Fabians - Republicans In the Age of Obama

The author contends that Fabian Socialism, established in England in the late 19th Century, has now infiltrated American politics and culture to an unprecedented degree. This book offers strategies in terms of how conservatives might launch a counter-Fabian movement. This book offers concrete ideas for Republicans and conservatives in the Age of Obama who seek to counter the Fabian influence on American politics and culture. At stake is the long-term ability of the American people to govern themselves in a free and sovereign Republic.

Apostles of Evolution - The Practical Result of the Evolutionary Faith

Apostles of Evolution examines the political and social consequences of the Theory of Evolution. By publishing the closing statements of William Jennings Bryan in the Scopes Trial, known as the Monkey Trial, Morse highlights the relevance and impact of the theory of evolution on modern history. This book focuses on the Theory of Evolution as a political idea and as a governing principle. While the author draws into question the validity of the science of evolution, The Monkey Trial focuses on the post-evolutionary emergence of Eugenics, Nazism, and Communism and the role that the evolutionary idea played in those political movements.
