Obama Defeat by Islamic Jihad - Defeat for America and the West
It now appears obvious that America and, by extension, the western democracies are rapidly facing defeat at the hands of the Islamic Jihad.
In Iraq, al-Qaeda forces have now seized Mosul along with Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit. There are reports of mass beheadings as 500,000 people fleeing in panic.
In Afghanistan, celebrations are underway as five top Taliban generals, including two wanted for war crimes against Islamic women and children by the United Nations, are released from Guantanamo Bay. They celebrate in Qatar as Sargent Bowe Bergdahl, the accused deserter and possible traitor remains under wraps at a German hospital awaiting his return to the states and possibly a military tribunal.
In Syria and in Libya, evidence mounts that the Obama Administration traded arms to al-Qaeda connected rebels. Previously, Obama offered a green light to the Muslim Brotherhood regime of Mohammad Morsi in Egypt and he has turned a cold shoulder to the popular government that replaced Morsi.
Obama is playing footsie with Iran as they develop nuclear capacity while he stabs Israel in the back by sending funds and support to Hamas.
Meanwhile the Boko Harum in Nigeria has kidnapped yet another group of 22 Christian schoolgirls as Jihadists run amuck across North Africa.
America, the western democracies and moderate Islamic nations are in retreat as Jihadists advance on all fronts.
If Obama had been a leader like Ronald Reagan, who confronted the old Soviet Union and who brought the decaying totalitarian edifice to its knees without firing a shot, the Islamic world would be a lot better off today.
Reagan defeated the communist Soviets by contrasting their corrupt and oppressive system, what he called the Evil Empire, with the American system, one based on freedom and unalienable rights. In his fight with the Soviets, Reagan tightened the economic screws, launched a pro-American media campaign and formed strong alliances with freedom-loving leaders such as Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II.
Obama could defeat the Jihad in the same way and without direct military involvement but he has utterly failed to do so. Obama has failed to articulate the superiority of the American way of life to that of the putrid and oppressive societies of the Jihadists. Indeed, Obama barely mentions the word Jihad publically.
Every American president from Washington to Bush has understood and articulated American exceptionalism. When America is true to its creed, the rest of the world looked to us as an example and as a light unto the nations. This is why America has been prosperous and free and America has been able to spread that prosperity and freedom around the world.
In April 2009, President Obama, responding to a journalist in Strasbourg, France, said:
I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.
America is the exceptional nation not for chauvinistic reasons, we are not literally better than anyone else is as a people or as a nation, but rather America is exceptional because Americans embrace principles that are universal to all nations.
Obama either fails to understand those principles or he is a whiting and conscious enemy of those principles.
Either way, when the American president fails to stand up for those principles the rest of the world suffers and much of the rest of the world is now reaping the harvest of his failure.
